Ford AOD Transmission Oil Circuit Diagram - Park (Closed Throttle) P Range
Mitchell hydraulic oil circuit schematic for the Ford AOD automatic in Park (closed throttle) P range, mapping line/converter/regulated pressures through the valve body.
This document is Figure 2 of a set of Ford AOD automatic transmission oil circuit diagrams, showing the hydraulic circuit in Park (Closed Throttle), "P" Range, as published for a 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria. The schematic (illustration number G97H03224) traces fluid flow through the pump, screen, sump, converter, cooler and lube circuits and identifies every major hydraulic component: the main oil pressure regulator valve, oil pressure booster valve, manual valve (P R N D 3 1), throttle valve/plunger/plug, T.V. limit and T.V. relief valves, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shift valves, 1-2 and 2-3 capacity modulator valves, 2-1 scheduling valve, 2-3 and 3-4 TV modulator valves, 3-4 shuttle valve, backout valves, accumulators, OD and reverse servos, governor assembly, and the intermediate, reverse, forward and direct clutches. In Park the reverse servo is marked APPLIED. A pressure legend distinguishes Throttle (T.V.), Line, Converter, Regulated and Pump Inlet pressures plus exhaust and cooler/lube paths. Numbered callouts (1–11) flag key locations in the circuit. The page was printed February 3, 2004 and is copyrighted 2003 by MRIC, LLC. It is one page of a multi-figure set covering the AOD in each gear range.
