NOTE: The frame mounted fuel filter was repositioned to between the fuel pump and engine in February, 1986.

To permanently eliminate the reservoir, use [url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0033YHPHG]these Dorman fuel tubes[/url]. The lack of a reservoir MAY cause rough running when the tank is low (bubbles in the fuel rail), and of course, only 1 tank can be connected.
