2006 Volkswagen Passat Specs & Photos
The 2006 Volkswagen Passat launched the B6 generation, abandoning the Audi-derived longitudinal layout for a transverse-engine architecture related to the fifth-generation Golf and growing about three inches longer overall. United States engines were a 200 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged FSI direct-injection four and a 280 horsepower 3.6-liter VR6. An electromechanical parking brake replaced the traditional handbrake lever.
