The 1962 Chevrolet Nova arrived as the top 400 series of the all-new Chevy II, the conventional compact Chevrolet developed to fight the Ford Falcon. The Chevy II used unitized construction with a bolted-on front frame section on a 110-inch wheelbase. Engines were a 153-cubic-inch four rated 90 horsepower gross and a 194-cubic-inch six rated 120 horsepower gross, with no factory V8 offered. Nova 400 body styles included a convertible and a Sport Coupe hardtop along with sedans and wagons.
