The 1974 Chevrolet Nova gained a heavier rear bumper to meet the 5-mph rear-impact standard, matching the front treatment introduced in 1973. Chevrolet offered the red, white, and blue Spirit of America appearance package on the Nova this year. Engines carried over, with the 250 six at 100 horsepower net and 350 V8s topping out at 185 horsepower net, and 1974 closed out the third-generation body.
