Chevrolet Silverado 2500
1976 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Specs & Photos
The 1976 Chevrolet 3/4-ton pickups covered here are the C20 (two-wheel drive) and K20 (four-wheel drive) of the Rounded Line generation introduced for 1973, commonly called the Square Body. Silverado had become the top trim level in 1975, above Scottsdale, Cheyenne, and Custom Deluxe, making 1976 only the second year a 3/4-ton Chevrolet could wear the name that later became the model itself. Engine choices included the 250 and 292 inline sixes, the 350 and 400 small-block V8s, and the 454 big-block. Four-wheel-drive K20s ordered with an automatic transmission used the full-time NP203 transfer case in this era.
