The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD spanned two generations: the carryover GMT800 sold as the Silverado Classic with the 360-horsepower LBZ Duramax, and the all-new GMT900-based 2500HD that reached dealers in early 2007. The new truck introduced the LMM Duramax with a diesel particulate filter, rated at 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet through the six-speed Allison 1000, while the standard gasoline engine became the 6.0-liter LY6 V8 with variable valve timing at 353 horsepower and 373 pound-feet. Trim levels on the new body were WT, LT, and LTZ.
