The 1991 Chevrolet C2500 and K2500 received the electronically controlled 4L80-E four-speed overdrive automatic, replacing the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 in heavy-duty applications. The 7.4-liter 454 V8 continued at 230 net horsepower, while the 5.7-liter TBI V8 held its 210-horsepower rating alongside the 6.2-liter diesel. It was also the last year for crew cabs on the old R/V platform, which moved to the GMT400 body for 1992.
