Chevrolet Silverado 2500

1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Specs & Photos

The 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was the first 3/4-ton to use Silverado as a model name rather than a trim level, launching on the new GMT800 platform with a hydroformed ladder frame. It was the light-duty 2500 with an 8,600-pound GVWR, powered by the new Vortec 6000, a 6.0-liter V8 rated at 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet. The previous GMT400 C/K2500 heavy-duty trucks stayed in production alongside it through 2000, and trim levels ran base, LS, and LT in regular and extended cabs.
