Jeep CJ5
1954 Jeep CJ5 Specs & Photos
Willys Motors introduced the Jeep CJ5 in October 1954, so vehicles titled as 1954 models are early production examples of what the factory sold as a 1955 model. The design civilianized the M38A1 military jeep on an 81 inch wheelbase, one year after Kaiser bought Willys-Overland. Power was the 134 cubic inch F-head Hurricane four rated at 75 hp gross, through a T-90 three speed, Spicer 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle, and Dana 44 rear.
