Caterpillar 3306 Engine Spec Plate & EPA Stationary Use Label 188-8045

This photograph shows two data/specification decals affixed to a yellow-painted Caterpillar diesel engine. The left decal identifies the unit as Caterpillar Engine Model 3306 and lists tuning/spec data, including MAX 750 M, ALT 2461 FT, fuel torque setting 6.02 mm, a bare engine high idle RPM of 1965, a dynamic setting of -1.10 mm, and partial number strings such as "-8486" and "1?15-5852 2"; the left edge of this label is cut off by the photo frame, so several fields are incomplete. The right decal is a Caterpillar Inc. EPA notice stating: "THIS UNIT IS INTENDED FOR STATIONARY USE ONLY AS PERMITTED BY EPA REGULATIONS (40 CFR PART 89.2(2)) (SEE MANUAL FOR DETAILS)" with label number 188-8045. From this document a reader can confirm the engine is a CAT 3306 configured for stationary use under EPA 40 CFR Part 89.2(2), and can read several of its fuel-system setting specifications. Note that this is Caterpillar industrial engine documentation, not paperwork for the 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria under which it was filed.
