The 1987 Ford Ranger carried over with drivetrain and equipment updates as fuel injection continued spreading across its engine range. The 2.0 and 2.3 Lima four-cylinders, the 2.9 Cologne V6, and the 3.0 Vulcan V6 made up the lineup. The 1987 Ranger 4x4 kept the Twin-Traction-Beam front suspension on a Dana 28 front axle.
