The 1986 Honda Accord launched the third generation with pop-up headlights, a longer wheelbase, and double-wishbone suspension at all four corners. A 2.0-liter four replaced the 1.8, rated at 98 horsepower with the carburetor and 110 horsepower with fuel injection in the LXi. Sedan and hatchback bodies were offered at launch.
