The 1998 Honda Accord launched the sixth generation with sedan and coupe bodies that shared no exterior panels. A new 3.0-liter VTEC V6 rated at 200 horsepower replaced the 2.7, and the four-cylinder grew to 2.3 liters, making 135 horsepower in the DX and 150 with VTEC in the LX and EX. The wagon was dropped from the US lineup with this redesign.
