The 2008 Honda Accord launched the eighth generation, grown large enough that the EPA rated the sedan as a full-size car. The 2.4-liter i-VTEC four made 177 horsepower in the LX and 190 in EX trims, while a new 3.5-liter V6 produced 268 horsepower and introduced Variable Cylinder Management, the first cylinder deactivation on an Accord. The coupe could pair the V6 with a six-speed manual.
