Carling Rocker Switch Wiring Diagrams - VAD1, VLD1, V8D1, VMDJ Terminal Pinouts

This document is a wiring reference sheet for Carling Technologies Contura-style rocker switches, showing terminal pinouts and internal circuit schematics for several switch models. Covered models include the VAD1-G66B (ON-OFF double-pole), VLD1-S00B ((ON)-OFF-(ON) momentary), V8D1-S00B ((ON)-OFF-(ON)), and VMDJ-G66B ((ON)-ON-OFF with latching and momentary positions). For each switch, the sheet identifies terminal functions: terminal 8 is the indicator lamp positive, terminal 7 is negative, terminals 2 and 5 are positive inputs, and terminals 1, 3, 4, and 6 are positive outputs (with switch-up/switch-down assignments for the momentary models). Diagrams show both the physical terminal layout on the back of the switch and the internal contact/lamp schematic. A footnote for the VMDJ-G66B explains that it ships with a pre-installed but removable external jumper between terminals 2 and 5, normally left in place unless the user wants to separate the momentary and latching positions. Two actual rocker switches are photographed lying on the sheet; one is marked Carling Technologies VLD2, rated 20A at 12V.
