Drivetrain: Hydra-Matic 4L80-E (auto OD), manual-shift transfer case, 4.10 Limited Slip, 10Kip GVWR
Notes: Bought in Sulphur, LA, 1997; most maintenance & repairs were done at the dealership; it has been replaced by a 2010 Dodge 1-ton. The camper shell was transferred from the previous 1988 Silverado 1/2-ton and painted to match this truck. It was Rhino-lined a few months after purchase. It has been used for travelling (towing a camper trailer to Canada & back); commuting; hunting/fishing; towing Aluminum & fiberglass bass boats; hauling building materials for a house, garage, & boat dock; and for towing a small 4WD 50hp tractor from TX to AL occasionally.

E-mail me through my profile here, or on most Ford truck & Crown Vic forums. It will be CraigsListed in Memphis.

Weighed it 7/26/12: 7240# with the bed crane, a full tank, and me sitting it in. I weigh 240#.

Sold 6/4/14 to a Tennessean.

Yes, she's gone - gone - gone... I finally found someone who appreciates the mechanical soundness of this truck, despite its cosmetic flaws. It just needed a few ounces of refrigerant.

This is as much mess as I made. It was a very quick, easy, clean job.

The solar panel in the door pocket goes on the dash when I leave the truck parked for days or weeks.

I used the pick again to set the shifter boot back onto the column shroud as I put the lower shroud into place. I put some red threadlocker on the tube for the upper shroud's L screw so maybe it won't come apart next time.

That colorful wiring snak...

The new switch went right back in, and I reconnected it for testing before finishing the installation up here. It worked fine, so I put the rest of the dash back together. The pick was used to lift the steering wheel lip over the upper shroud lip.

With just a little finageling, the big connectors came out of the dash. This might be 20 minutes of work, but I took longer because I was learning, trying various tools, and taking pictures.

Up here, I pulled the cluster bezel off (releasing the cargo lamp switch plate, headlight switch connector, & other switches) to make room for the column shroud. Two T25 screws released the lower half (the pick released the tilt lever clip), and I u...
