1965 Ford LTD Specs & Photos

The 1965 Ford LTD arrived as the top trim of Ford's full-size line, sold as the Galaxie 500 LTD in two-door and four-door hardtop form. It rode on Ford's all-new 1965 full-size chassis, which replaced rear leaf springs with a three-link, coil-spring rear suspension. The standard engine was the 289 cubic inch V8 rated 200 horsepower gross, with the 352 at 250 horsepower and the 390 at 300 horsepower optional. Ford promoted the car with the claim that the LTD rode quieter than a Rolls-Royce, based on acoustic testing it commissioned.
