The 1985 Ford LTD carried over its sedan and wagon lineup with the 2.3 liter four and 3.8 liter Essex V6 as the mainstream engines. It was the final season for the V8-powered LTD LX, whose two-year production is commonly put at about 3,260 cars. Police fleets continued to order the 5.0 liter LTD police package alongside the civilian line.
