1986 Ford LTD Specs & Photos

The 1986 Ford LTD was the last of the line, retired during the model year as the front-wheel-drive Taurus, on sale from late December 1985, took over the midsize slot. The 3.8 liter Essex V6 powered nearly every 1986 car, with the slow-selling 2.3 liter four in its final year, and all 1986 cars added the newly mandated center high-mounted stop lamp. After 1986 the LTD name survived in the United States only as part of the full-size LTD Crown Victoria badge.
