Remove pinion assembly. MANUAL STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE R22T Inspection RACK Thoroughly examine rack gear, H rack gear is damaged, cracked or worn, replace. PINION ASSEMBLY i. Thoroughly examine pinion gear. If pinion gear is damaged, cracked or worn, replace. 2. Inspect bearings to see that they roll freely and are free from cracked, pitted, or worn balls, rollers and races. Replace if necessary. TIEROD OUTER SOCKET AND INNER SOCKET 0 Check ball joint for swinging force (Measured at point).
