Exploded tailgate latch and linkage diagram with Ford part numbe…

1. Lower the tailgate and remove the inner access cover.
2. Remove the 2 screws securing the handle to the tailgate.
3. Remove the rod from the clip that holds the handle rod to the lock control.
4. Remove the handle and rod assembly.
5. Disconnect the latch release links and latch control rod.
6. Disconnect the wiring from the interlock switch.
7. Remove the 3 lock control-to-tailgate retaining screws.
8. Remove the lock control from the tailgate.
9. Install the lock control and tighten the screws to 11 ft. lbs.
10. Connect the wires.
11. Place the latch control rod in position and install the clip.
12. Place the latch release links in position and install the clips.
13. Place the handle and rod assembly in the tailgate. Connect the rod to the lock control and install the clip.
14. Install and tighten the handle attaching screws.
15. Install the access cover.
