Suzuki Samurai MAF Sensor Wiring Diagram - ECM Pin B8, Wire Colors & Coupler
Wiring diagram showing the ECM-to-MAF-sensor circuit with resistor and ground plus an ECM coupler terminal layout.
This document is a wiring diagram for the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor circuit, uploaded to a 1986 Suzuki Samurai gallery. The schematic shows the ECM (item 1) with an internal A/D converter block and a resistor (item 6) to ground, connected through the ECM coupler (item 2) via ECM terminal B8. A Gr/B (gray/black) wire runs from ECM pin B8 to the MAF sensor coupler (item 4) and connects to the sensor's "Is" signal terminal. The MAF sensor (item 3) has three terminals: B+ (power), Is (signal), and Ground. Power to the B+ terminal comes on a Bl/B (blue/black) wire from the main relay (item 5), and the Ground terminal connects to chassis ground via a B (black) wire. A separate illustration on the right shows the ECM coupler face with its two multi-pin connector blocks and identifies the location of terminal B8. A reader can learn the MAF sensor's three-wire hookup, the wire colors for each circuit, the power source (main relay), and where to probe pin B8 at the ECM connector.

Frequently asked questions
- What wire color carries the MAF sensor signal to the ECM?
- A Gr/B (gray/black) wire connects the MAF sensor's "Is" terminal to ECM terminal B8.
- Where does the MAF sensor get its power?
- The B+ terminal of the MAF sensor is fed from the main relay via a Bl/B (blue/black) wire.
- How many wires does the MAF sensor have and what are the terminals?
- Three terminals are shown: B+ (power from the main relay), Is (signal to ECM pin B8), and Ground (to chassis ground on a black wire).
- Which ECM pin is used for the MAF sensor signal?
- ECM terminal B8, shown both in the schematic and on the ECM coupler pinout illustration.
- What components are identified in the diagram legend?
- 1. ECM, 2. ECM coupler, 3. MAF sensor, 4. MAF sensor coupler, 5. From main relay, 6. Resister.
