1999 Ford Power Seat Wiring Diagram - Switch, Motor & Ground Circuits

This is a Ford power seat system wiring diagram. Power originates from a hot-at-all-times 30 A fuse (position 112) in the Battery Junction Box (referenced to page 13-4) and travels on circuit 566 (DG, dark green) through connectors C159M/C159F, C202F/C202M, C305F/C305M and C311M/C311F to the Power Seat Control Switch. The switch is divided into three sections — Front of Seat (up/down), Entire Seat (fwd/rwd and up/down), and Rear of Seat (up/down) — and reverses current flow to run each bi-directional motor clockwise or counterclockwise. Six output circuits pass through connectors C308M/C308F to the Power Seat Motor Assembly: 990 VE/LB and 979 RD/LB to the Front Height Motor, 981 RD/WH and 980 VE/WH to the FWD/RWD Motor, and 982 VE/LG and 983 RD/LG to the Rear Height Motor. Ground is provided on circuit 57 (BK, black) through C305M/C305F and splice S304 to ground point G200 (grounds referenced to page 10-7). Notes on the diagram explain that the seat motor assembly contains three bi-directional motors and that the control switch determines direction of current flow. A reader can use this to trace power, switch, motor and ground circuits for diagnosing power seat faults.
