“Creampuff”1990 Ford F-250

The story

A friend had it for awhile and called it Creampuff but gave it to her grandma when she left for the Army. However it was in horrible shape. Warped cylinder heads, many damaged parts, numerous broken vacuum lines, and many failed repairs done by others. as a favor I completely rebuilt the top end of the motor for cost of parts and using used parts I already had. afterwards I got the engine running prime but then found out the tranny was toasted and the engine had very low oil pressure due to worn bottom end parts.

The grandma doesn't want to pay for a new tranny and rebuilding the lower end of the engine but gave it for me because she knows I see the potential in the truck and will get it fixed right.

Been playing with different ideas for plans of what I want to do for the truck. decided to swap in an engine and tranny from a 98 V8 Explorer with a 302 and 4R70W. Unfortunately the tranny is 2wd so the truck will loose 4x4. I will be converting the truck to OBD-II and using the EFI setup from the Explorer. the Explorer 302 with its GT40P heads, roller block, better cam, MAF OBD-II EFI will be much stonger and efficient than the stock engine. The 4R70W with the wide ratio gears and aftermarket valvebody will make it very strong and much better torque. both the engine and tranny with the F250s 4.10 gearing will make it very fuel efficient reliable and decent for towing

Unfortunately the 98 Explorer has anti-theft and numerous trips to the junkyard i still couldnt get all the components i needed to get by it. Ended up using a 96 Explorer 5.0 PCM which doesnt have anti-theft. Downside of this is that alot of the systems were different so this required me having to do some custom wiring and add and delete components. — Kingfish999
