The 1976 Chevrolet K5 Blazer adopted a fixed steel half-cab roof over the front seats, ending the full convertible layout used since 1969. The rear fiberglass section stayed removable, a feature the full-size Blazer kept through 1991. Running gear carried over, with the Dana 44 front axle, the NP205 behind manual transmissions, and the full-time NP203 paired with the automatic.
