The 1980 Chevrolet K5 Blazer arrived without the full-time NP203, leaving the gear-driven part-time NP205 as the sole transfer case for a single year before the 1981 redesign brought the chain-driven NP208. It also closed out the 1973-1980 front-end styling. For off-road builders it is the last factory NP205 Blazer.
