The 1981 Chevrolet K5 Blazer received a major refresh: new front sheet metal cut weight and drag, and the part-time aluminum-case NP208 transfer case replaced the gear-driven NP205. The changes chased fuel economy after the 1979 fuel crisis. The removable rear top and 106.5 inch wheelbase carried over unchanged.
