The 1983 Chevrolet K5 Blazer offered the 305 and 350 gasoline V8s alongside the 6.2 liter diesel introduced the year before. Four-wheel-drive models used GM's 10-bolt front axle and the chain-driven NP208 transfer case. The removable rear fiberglass top remained part of the design, as it would through the end of production in 1991.
