The 1987 Honda Civic marked the final year of the third generation. The Si hatchback returned with its 91 hp fuel-injected 1.5, and the four-wheel-drive wagon's push-button system gave way to automatically engaging 4WD, still backed by the six-speed manual with its super-low first gear. The all-new fourth-generation car on the EF chassis replaced the range for 1988.
