Evaporator Cleaning

This truck was bought used with working A/C, but it didn't blow very hard. After a few months, it got bad enough to diagnose. The first step is to simply remove the 2 screws for the resistor plate, and look in the evaporator case. This one looked bad, so 4 more screws were removed to pull the blower motor. It was too filthy to clean in-place, so a few more screws were removed, making it possible to lift the evaporator out of its box while the refrigerant system is still pressurized. The fins were brushed, vacuumed, & blown dry, then hosed out backward. The accessible ducts and the squirrel cage were also cleaned before re-assembling everything. It now blows like a modern vehicle, for just a couple hours of work, without any special tools, or replacing any parts.
