44-3 HORN/CIGAR LIGHTER TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION O Horn doesnt work 0 No voltage at Horn Relay screw 1/4 to 3/8 turn, then secure. If Horn does not sound, replace ll Check Fuse 16 Remove Fuse 16 and connect meter across Fuse 16 position. If mew ter reads battery when Horn Switch is pushed, switch is good. W. -: .1 . E ,4 j A. , . . . , I. , l} I Attach a jumper between the Battery and Horn connector and anoth ; er jumper between the Horn bracket and ground. (Do this step for NH; both Left and Right Horns.) If Horn doesnt sound, turn adjusting Horn. Check for voltage at the Horn Relay connector 460 (Y/LB) wire , ; Ground Horn Relay 1 (DB) wire. If horn doesnt sound, check relay: I Horn doesnt turn off 0 Short in circuit Disconnect connector 0219 from Horn Switch. if Horn shuts off, re- place Speed Control Switch Assembly. if Horn continues to sound, .3 check 1 (DB) wire' for a short to ground. If ground is OK, replace Horn Relay. Without speed control, remove fuse 16 and perform . continuity check of Horn Switch (not depressed). lf continuity is sent replace Horn Switch. lf Horn Switch is good check for short tween 151 (LB/BK) and 1(DB) wire O Cigar Lighter doesnt work 0 No voltage at lighter : Ii ,. Check Fuse 16 . Check for voltage at the Cigar Lighter 460 (Y/LB) circuit Check for continuity to ground at the lighter shell , Iii llI .
