The 1987 Ford Falcon was an Australian-built XF, the nameplate having continued at Ford Australia long after the US Falcon ended in 1970. XF power came from 3.3 and 4.1 litre crossflow sixes, with electronic fuel injection available on the 4.1, and no V8 was offered since Ford Australia had dropped the option in 1982. Sedans and wagons wore the XF facelift of the XD/XE body introduced in late 1984.
