The 1999 Ford Falcon was an AU Series I, Ford Australia's New Edge generation. Power came from the 4.0 litre Intech six or the 5.0 litre Windsor V8, with XR6, XR6 VCT, and XR8 performance variants. The AU's styling proved divisive and Holden's Commodore outsold it, prompting the Series II update that followed in 2000. The US Falcon was long gone, discontinued in 1970.
