SCAT Connecting Rod Installation Instructions - Rod Bolt Torque & Stretch Specs

This document is a SCAT Crankshafts & Connecting Rods installation instruction sheet (an aftermarket parts insert, not a Ford factory document). It provides a four-step procedure for installing SCAT connecting rods: (1) disassemble and thoroughly clean the rods including bolt and beam threads to remove rust preventative; (2) apply ARP Molylube to the threads and under each bolt head; (3) align cap and beam and tap into place before installing bolts, the caps must never be pulled into position with the bolts, and each numbered cap must be matched to the beam with the same number; and (4) sequentially torque the bolts to the specified torque without exceeding the maximum bolt-stretch specification. A torque table lists ten rod bolt types (5/16", 3/8", and 7/16" ARP 2000, ARP 8740, ARP Wave Loc, and SCAT 2001 cap screws) with recommended torque values from 26 to 70 ft./lb using ARP moly lube, along with corresponding not-to-exceed stretch values ranging from.0046" to.0063".
