SCAT Connecting Rod Bolt Torque Specs - ARP 2000/8740 & SCAT 2001 Cap Screws

This document is a SCAT connecting rod installation and torque specification sheet, supplied with SCAT crankshafts and connecting rods. It provides a four-step installation procedure: (1) disassemble the rods and thoroughly clean bolt and beam threads to remove rust preventative; (2) apply ARP Molylube to the threads and under each bolt head; (3) install rods by bringing cap and beam into alignment, tapping into place before installing bolts (bolts must never be used to pull caps into position), and matching the number on cap and beam; and (4) sequentially torque bolts to the specified torque without exceeding the maximum stretch specification. A table lists ten rod bolt types (ARP 2000, ARP 8740, ARP 8740 Wave Loc, and SCAT 2001 cap screws in 5/16", 3/8", and 7/16" sizes with various lengths) with recommended torque values from 26 to 70 ft./lb using ARP moly lubricant, and corresponding not-to-exceed stretch limits from.0046" to.0063".
