This document is page 24-7 of a Ford wiring diagram set covering Engine Controls for the 5.0L engine. It shows the power feed circuits into the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). On the left, a Hot-in-Start-or-Run circuit runs from fuse 17 (10A) in the fuse panel through wire 640 R/Y via splice S215 and connector C250 to the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) in the instrument cluster, then continues as wire 658 PK/LG through C251, C202, the VIP Data Link Connector and C198 to PCM pin 17. A note explains the MIL lights with the ignition ON before cranking, goes off after start, and is turned on by the PCM if a fault develops.
