Ford Taurus Multi-Function Switch Internal Schematic - Lamp Circuits & Wire Colors

This document is an internal schematic of the lamp portion of a Ford multi-function switch (the steering-column switch controlling turn signals, hazard flashers, headlamp dimmer/flash-to-pass, and cornering lamps). The dashed outline represents the switch itself, with internal contact sets shown for the NORMAL/HAZARD selector, TURN LEFT/TURN RIGHT lever positions, the CORNERING lamp contacts, and the DIMMER/FLASH-TO-PASS (HI/LO/PASS) contacts. External circuits are identified by circuit number and wire color: top feeds are 44 (LB), 810 (R/LG) into terminal 511, 298 (P/O) into the IGN terminal, 383 (R/W) into terminal 49, and 385 (W/R) into the BAT terminal. Left-side circuits are 196 (DB/O) and 15 (R/Y). Bottom output circuits are 12 (LG/BK), 13 (R/BK), 380 (P/Y), 379 (BR/W), 3 (LG/W), 5 (O/LB), 9 (LG/O), and 2 (W/LB). A reader can use this diagram to identify which switch terminals should show continuity in each lever position, trace wire colors at the switch connector, and diagnose turn signal, hazard, headlamp high/low beam, flash-to-pass, or cornering lamp faults attributable to the multi-function switch.
