Ford Interior & Courtesy Lamp Wiring Diagram - GEM, Battery Saver Relay
Wiring diagram of interior and courtesy lamp circuits including battery saver relay, light switch and door courtesy lamps with grounds.
This document is a Ford interior lighting wiring diagram covering the courtesy/interior lamp circuits. It shows a 15A fuse in the Junction Box Fuse/Relay Panel (referenced to pages 13-9 and 13-16) feeding a Battery Saver Relay and an Interior Lamp Relay, both controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM)/Central Timer Module (CTM) via connector C267 (referenced to page 59-3). Circuit 705 (LG/O wire) leaves the GEM at connector C243 pin 32 and feeds the engine compartment lamp (C161) and glove compartment lamp (C211) through splice S240 and connectors C158F/C158M. Circuit 402 (O/LG) from C242 pin 22 goes to the dome lamp switch within the main light switch (C245/C246, page 13-17; switch testing on page 149-1). Circuit 53 (BK/LB) from pins 26 and 33 feeds the right door courtesy lamp (C602) and left door courtesy lamp (C502) through C206F/C206M and splice S239. All lamps ground through circuit 57 (BK) via splices S102, S203, S200, S204, S600, S501 to grounds G102 and G200, with ground references on pages 10-2, 10-4, and 10-8. Off-page connections go to C203 (pages 89-2, 89-3).

Frequently asked questions
- What size fuse powers the interior lamp circuit in this diagram?
- A 15A fuse in the Junction Box Fuse/Relay Panel (pins 11 and 14), which is hot at all times, feeds the Battery Saver Relay and Interior Lamp Relay.
- What wire color feeds the engine compartment and glove compartment lamps?
- Circuit 705, a light green/orange (LG/O) wire, from GEM connector C243 pin 32, through splice S240 and connectors C158F/C158M to the engine compartment lamp (C161) and glove compartment lamp (C211).
- What wire feeds the door courtesy lamps?
- Circuit 53, a black/light blue (BK/LB) wire, from C242 pins 26 and 33, through connectors C206F/C206M and splice S239 to the right door courtesy lamp (C602) and left door courtesy lamp (C502).
- How do the courtesy lamps ground?
- Through circuit 57 (black wire): the engine compartment lamp grounds via S102 to G102, the glove box lamp via S203/S200 to G200, and the door courtesy lamps via S600 and S501 to G200 (see grounds pages 10-2, 10-4, and 10-8).
- Where is switch testing information for the main light switch found?
- The diagram notes the main light switch (connector C245) is covered on page 13-17, with switch testing on page 149-1.
