Ford Bronco 5.8L Engine Controls Wiring Diagram - MIL & CPP Switch (Pg 25-5)

This is page 25-5, "Engine Controls, 5.8L," a factory-style wiring diagram covering part of the engine control circuit for a 5.8L Ford truck. It shows the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) circuit: power from fuse 17 (10A) in the fuse panel (hot in start or run) via circuit 640 R/Y through splice S215 and connector C250 to the MIL in the instrument cluster (page 60-3), then via circuit 658 PK/LG through connectors C251, C202F/C202M, the Data Link Connector (DLC), and C198F to pin 17 of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). A note explains the MIL lights with the ignition ON before cranking, goes off after start, and is turned on by the PCM when a fault develops. A second branch shows the ignition switch (hot at all times) START feed via circuit 32 R/LB and 480 P/Y through splice S224 to either the Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch jumper (E4OD automatic transmission) or the CPP switch (manual transmission), which prevents engine startup with the clutch pedal released, continuing on circuit 481 GY/Y to PCM pin 30 (without E4OD) at connector C165.
