Use care when bleeding fuel lines as eXtreme fuel pressure exists and could penetrate the skin causing personal injury. 1) To bleed lowpressure fuel lines and fuel filter, open fuel bleed screw on banjo bolt. See Fig. 3. 2) Operate hand lever on fuel lift pump until steady fuel stream flows from fuel bleed screw. Tighten fuel bleed screw to 72 INCH lbs. (7 N.m). If hand lever feels like pump is not operating, .rotate engine 90 degrees and repeat procedure. Position hand lever in upward position once fuel line is bled. , vi CAUTION: Lift pump hand lever must be in upward position once fuel ,4 lines are bled. ' i 3) To bleed high-pressure fuel lines, use caution and loosen fuel line nut at fuel injector. Operate starter until steady fuel flow exists and tighten fuel line nut. DO NOT operate starter for more than 30 seconds. Allow 2 minute intervals between starter operations. a) Start engine andepeat procedure on all fuel lines one at a time until engine operates smoothl%% , l //.
