The 1965 Volkswagen Beetle enlarged every window and thinned the roof pillars, the biggest change to the sedan greenhouse since the one-piece rear window of 1958. It was also the final US model year for the 1192cc 40 hp (SAE gross) engine. The 1300 replaced it for 1966.
