Nickname: That dirty old truck
Mileage: 400000
Engine: 1995 4.9L from F-150. Completely transplanted, including computer, air filter, y-pipe, & all accessories. 130A alternator, 1996 Bronco gas tank & pump. K&N drop-in.
Drivetrain: 1978 F-250 NP-435; original '83 NP-208F with around 400Kmi of HARD use (it's almost the only original part on the truck); Six States rear d'shaft; rebuilt front d'shaft; '96 Bronco D44IFS with original rebuilt '83 diff 3.07; rebuilt Ford 8.8" 3.08; F&R antisway bars & Energy polyurethane bushings all around.
Notes: The body tub is an '82, the tailgate is a '96, the doors are '80 & '94 with '94 power mirrors, the front clip is '84, and the camper shell is a '96 with a '94 Explorer roof rack & '82 sliding windows. The rear seat & dash are the original '83 parts, but the instrument cluster has been heavily modified with '88 fuel & volt gauges and a '94 PSOM. The front seats are mixed captain's chairs and the door panels are '93 XLTs with PM, PW, & PL. I've added autolamps, an auto-dimming compass rear-view mirror, aftermarket remote keyless entry. The CB, scanner, & radar detector are hard-wired and mounted overhead. Planned mods include auto-dimming brights, & 4WABS with Traction Control. The bumpers are my own design (mostly hand-built). The front has been powdercoated & includes a fold-down grille guard, energy-absorbing push bumpers, fog lights, 2 storage boxes, recovery points, a spoiler, & a winch mount. I got the Ramsey RE12000 I've always wanted in 7/09. The rear bumper has an integral hitch receiver & 3 locking storage boxes.

The SCDS was located here ONLY in '93 on trucks with cruise; older trucks used a mechanical vaccum valve on the brake pedal to cancel cruise; later trucks had this switch on the master cylinder, where it starts fires.

This is how to fix a seized air pump for nearly nothing:
1) break the three 10mm pulley bolts
2) remove the belt
3) remove the pulley bolts
4) loosen the two hose clamps (5/16", 8mm, flathead) and push the hoses back
5) remove the 9/16" (14mm) u...

Be aware of the distance from the floor to the tank at all times, and remember that the fuel lines, pump wiring, and vent hose are in there.

The rear holes are noticeably closer to the gas tank than the front, so don't punch down when the drill/saw breaks through.

Sketch the cut line corners INSIDE the trace lines, and along the crease in the bottom of the channel. Then place the hole saw upside-down along the corner lines & mark the center. I prefer to predrill the center so the saw doesn't grab when the dr...

Find the line of spot welds, place the plate where it will go, then trace across its front & rear edges. (Ignore the sides.) Make the cuts AT LEAST 1/2" inside these marks so the screws will hit good metal.

For most Broncos, like this stock '93EB, only the rear threshhold has to be removed to fold the carpet forward and expose the target area of the cargo floor.

Note the remains of the build sheet in the lower R corner.
