- Can the drive gear on an EEC-IV distributor be replaced?
- No. The drive gear on EEC-IV distributors is not released for service. If any nicks or cracks occur during disassembly or reassembly, a new EEC-IV distributor must be used, since the gear is matched to the distributor at assembly.
- What lubricant should be used on the distributor shaft assembly?
- Lubricate the shaft lightly with a coating of fresh motor oil or with Engine Assembly Lubricant D9AZ-19579-D (ESR-M99C80-A).
- What special tool is used when inverting the distributor for gear installation?
