Control and Instrument Lights How the Circuit Works . . . When the light switch IS pulled to the first or second position . I power is fed to the rheostat located inside the light switch I from the rheostat. it travels to fuse 2 I from luse 2, current travels to the control and instrument cluster lights Trouble-Shooting It panel illumination seems dim or spotty or one or more controls aren't lit . I check tor burned out bulbs If control and instrument cluster lights do not operate. . . I check luse 2 ltfusezlsOK . .. I check for voltage to the light switch dimmer connection (blue and red stripe wire) it there is no power to the connector t .. I repair feed to connector it there is power . . . I turn light swilch knob as ii to dim the instrument panel lights I note it the voltage varies evenly with the turning ol the knob and that the lights dim and brighten It voltage is erratic or zero r . .
