With the ignition switch in RUN or ACCY i V . I power is sent to an instrument voltage regulator I the regulator averages 5 volts pulsating output I power then goes to luel gage I the luel gage sender controls current New to the gage by varying resistance (between gage and ground) according to float level Trouble-Shooting It fuel gage Is lnoperatlve or inaccurate . . . I broken, corroded or covered (with rust proofing) wires I check fuel sender ground I measure resistance of fuel sender If resistance of fuel sender is not between 8 and 66 ohms . . . I replace fuel sender It resistance is OK . . . I unplug luel gage I connect leadof testlight to fuel gage connector I turn ignition switch to FlUN Itthelight is ashing .i .
