1996 Ford Bronco Power Distribution Wiring Diagram - Ignition Switch & Fuses
Power distribution wiring diagram for 1996 Ford Bronco showing ignition switch, instrument cluster and starting circuits.
This document is page 13-3 of the Power Distribution wiring diagrams for a 1996 Ford Bronco. It shows the power feed from the engine compartment fuse box (fuses 17 and 15, both 50A, and fuse 10, 20A) through 37 V (violet) circuits and splices S234 and S211 to the ignition switch, via connectors C202M/C202F. The ignition switch is drawn with all key positions (LOCK, OFF, ACC, RUN, START) across terminals B1–B5, A1–A4, I1, P2, STA and GND, with a note to see page 149-2 for switch testing. Switch outputs include circuit 16 R/LG (through splice S208 to C202 on page 13-5 and to the instrument cluster on page 60-4 via C250), 297 BK/LG, multiple 687 GY/W branches through splice S217 to C202 on page 13-4, 32 R/LB to the starting system (page 20-1), 512 T/LG to the instrument cluster (page 60-6) via C269, and 57 BK grounds through S202 to G201 (grounds page 10-10). The bottom of the diagram shows interior fuse panel positions with amperages: fuse 17 (30A), 2 (15A), 6 (30A), 11 (15A), 14A (20A via C207), 7 (15A), 1 (30A) and a 10A fuse, feeding circuits 640 R/Y, 65 DG, 182 BR/W, 137 Y/BK, 640 LB/BK, 8 O/Y, 399 BR/W and 296 W/P, with cross-references to power distribution pages 13-10, 13-11 and 13-14.

Frequently asked questions
- What fuses feed the ignition switch on a 1996 Ford Bronco?
- Per this diagram, the ignition switch is fed from the engine compartment fuse box: fuse 17 (50A), fuse 15 (50A) and fuse 10 (20A), all through circuit 37 (V/violet wires) via splices S234 and S211 and connectors C202M/C202F.
- What wire circuit goes from the ignition switch to the starting system?
- Circuit 32 R/LB runs from the ignition switch to the starting system, continued on page 20-1.
- Which page covers ignition switch testing for the 96 Bronco?
- The diagram notes to see page 149-2 for ignition switch testing.
- What are the interior fuse panel positions and amperages shown on this page?
- Fuse 17 – 30A (640 R/Y), fuse 2 – 15A (65 DG), fuse 6 – 30A (182 BR/W), fuse 11 – 15A (137 Y/BK), 14A – 20A (640 LB/BK via C207), fuse 7 – 15A (8 O/Y), fuse 1 – 30A (399 BR/W), and a 10A fuse feeding 296 W/P.
- Where do the ignition switch grounds go?
- The 57 BK ground circuit runs through connector C269 and splice S202 to ground G201, referenced to the Grounds section on page 10-10.
