1996 Ford Bronco Power Distribution 13-17: Circuit 361 to Transmission & HO2S
1996 Ford Bronco power distribution wiring diagram showing splices, connectors and wire codes feeding transmission and oxygen sensors.
This is a scanned page from the 1996 Ford Bronco factory wiring/power distribution manual, section 13-17 (Power Distribution), labeled '96 Bronco'. It shows how circuit 361 (Red wire) is distributed from splice S136 (referenced on page 13-6) through connector C109M/C109F to four powertrain configurations: 5.8L with E4OD, 5.0L with E4OD, 5.0L with 4R70W automatic, and 5.0L with M5R2 manual transmission. For the E4OD configurations, the circuit passes through splice S169 to connector C1048 (pins 1 and 12) feeding the E4OD transmission (page 30-2), and to heated oxygen sensor connectors C1028F/C1028M (HO2S #21, page 25-5, 5.8L only) and C1069F/C1069M (HO2S #12, pages 25-5 or 24-6). For the 5.0L with 4R70W, power routes through splice S124 to connector C1049 (pins 2, 7, 8) feeding the 4R70W transmission (page 29-3) and to HO2S #12 via C1069F/C1069M. The 5.0L M5R2 branch feeds only HO2S #12. A reader can trace circuit 361 R power distribution to transmissions and heated oxygen sensors by engine/transmission combination.

Frequently asked questions
- What circuit is shown on page 13-17 of the 1996 Bronco power distribution diagram?
- Circuit 361, a Red (R) wire, distributed from splice S136 (page 13-6) through connector C109M/C109F to the transmission and heated oxygen sensor circuits.
- Which connector feeds the E4OD transmission on the 1996 Bronco?
- Connector C1048, pins 1 and 12, with details on page 30-2. Power reaches it through splice S169 on circuit 361 R.
- How is the 4R70W transmission powered in the 1996 Bronco 5.0L?
- Circuit 361 R passes through splice S124 to connector C1049 at pins 2, 7, and 8, feeding the 4R70W transmission (see page 29-3).
- Which connectors serve the heated oxygen sensors in this diagram?
- C1028F/C1028M serve HO2S #21 (5.8L with E4OD, page 25-5), and C1069F/C1069M serve HO2S #12 (pages 25-5 or 24-6 depending on configuration).
- What engine and transmission combinations does this diagram cover?
- 5.8L with E4OD, 5.0L with E4OD, 5.0L with 4R70W, and 5.0L with M5R2.
