1992 Ford Bronco Courtesy Lamps Wiring Diagram - Dome, Cargo & Map Lights
Wiring diagram for 1992 Bronco courtesy lamps showing door switches, dome lamps and color-coded circuit paths.
This document is a factory-style wiring diagram for the courtesy lamp circuit of a 1992 Ford Bronco. Power comes from fuse 8 (15A) in the fuse panel (hot at all times, referenced to Power Distribution page 13-17) on circuit 54 LG/Y (light green/yellow). The feed distributes through splices S214, S251, and connectors G200/G263/G300 to the glove compartment lamp, right and left front courtesy lamp switches (closed with door open), the main light switch DOME position (page 13-20, switch testing page 149-1), power mirrors (page 124-), the warning chime (circuit 159 R/PK, page 66-1), front door courtesy lamps, inside cargo lamp, outside cargo/high mount stop lamps (with turn/stop hazard lamp interface via circuit 810 R/LG, page 90-2), and map/dome lamps in both with-map-lamps and without-map-lamps configurations. Ground return is via circuit 57 BK through grounds G201, S203, S308, and others (grounds pages 10-11 and 10-13). Switched grounds use circuits 53 BK/LB (door switches) and 55 BK/PK (headlight switch dome position). The diagram identifies all connectors, splices, and wire colors, making it useful for diagnosing dome, courtesy, cargo, glove box, and map lamp faults on a 1992 Bronco.

Frequently asked questions
- What fuse powers the courtesy lamps on a 1992 Ford Bronco?
- Fuse 8, a 15A fuse in the fuse panel (hot at all times), feeds the courtesy lamp circuit on wire 54 LG/Y. See fuse panel page 13-13 and power distribution page 13-17.
- What wire color is the courtesy lamp power feed?
- Circuit 54, light green/yellow (LG/Y), is the battery feed to all courtesy, dome, map, cargo, and glove compartment lamps.
- How do the door switches turn on the courtesy lamps?
- The right (G262) and left (G263) front courtesy lamp switches close with the door open and ground circuit 53 BK/LB, completing the lamp circuits. The left switch also feeds the warning chime via circuit 159 R/PK.
- How does the headlight switch control the dome lamp?
- The main light switch (page 13-20; testing page 149-1) has a DOME position that grounds circuit 55 BK/PK to turn on the interior lamps.
- What ground circuits do the courtesy lamps use?
- The lamps return to ground on circuit 57 BK through grounds such as S203, G201, and S308 (see grounds pages 10-11 and 10-13).
