This document is page 25-5 of the Engine Controls wiring diagram set for the 5.8L engine (from a 1995 Ford Bronco electrical/vacuum troubleshooting manual, per companion pages in the set). It shows the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) circuit and the Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch circuits feeding the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Power comes from Fuse 17 (10A, hot in START or RUN) at the fuse panel through circuit 640 R/Y and splice S215 to the instrument cluster MIL (connector C250/C251), then through circuit 658 PK/LG via connectors C202F/C202M and the Data Link Connector (DLC, C198F) to PCM pin 17. A note explains the MIL lights with the ignition ON prior to cranking, goes off when the engine starts, and is turned on by the PCM if a fault develops. A second branch from the ignition switch (hot at all times, 12V in START) runs through C269, circuit 32 R/LB, splice S224 and circuit 480 P/Y to either a CPP switch jumper (E4OD automatic transmission) or an actual CPP switch (manual transmission, which prevents engine startup with the clutch pedal released), returning on circuit 481 GY/Y to PCM pin 30.
